Travel light

There will be certain things you cant do without, it might be a hair straightner for female travellers, and some male hmmm.. i saw a guy in a bathroom using one in a brisbane hostel.
it might be a surfboard , a guitar if your a musician, there are so many things people hold close to them and cant part from , fair enough right? Sorry you cant take fluffy the cat with you.
People would ask me "isn't difficult travelling around with a guitar ?" , my response : " it's difficult travelling without it " . I need to be able to play one daily, it's my passion .
But what i found is that in some countries , Beautiful Canada for example , you could hire one for as little as 8 canadian dollars a week ,with a credit card as deposit or a cash deposit .
It was a quality guitar too , Nice! Surfboards can be hired/purchased used cheap too.
And you might find you just saved some $$$$$$ on extra baggage fees with the airline.
All airlines have a baggage weight Allowance included in the flight ticket cost, most are around 20 kilos or 44 pounds
(Remember any oversize luggage can be damaged in the cargo hold )
Note: The less you take with you the more free your going to be to do absolutly anything .
What i found to be best in places like south east asia , was to carry a 12 kilos of luggage in a overhead compartment sized bag. This lets you travel without checking in luggage on the plane , train or automobile. And its truly the most secure way of looking after your things , and handy if you want to get you toothbrush out mid flight. As braveheart said: frrreeeedoooommmm!!
Things go missing on airlines , greyhound buses ,pretty much any travel service that move your luggage can also loose it for you .
KEEP YOUR PASSPORT , CASH and CREDIT CARDS ON YOU EVEN WHEN YOU SLEEP
I lost count of the number of times i heard a story stolen wallets. (Read the insurance blog)
Your backpack is your new home for a while so treat her well and shell stay with you.
